SECRETARY PETE BUTTIGIEG ENDORSES RETIRED BRIGADIER GENERAL SHAWN HARRIS FOR GA-14 U.S. CONGRESS SEAT

Northwest Georgia – Today, Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced his support for Democratic candidate and retired Brigadier General Shawn Harris for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.

“There’s no such thing as a permanently red state or district, and I believe Shawn Harris has the background and values to bring people together and win,” said Secretary Buttigieg. “Shawn is running because he knows the status quo in Washington isn’t working for people in the district, and he’s ready to get to work to lower prescription drug prices, pass a farm bill that works for rural Georgia, and defend Medicare and Medicaid.”

“It’s an honor to receive the support of Secretary Buttigieg,” said GA-14 candidate Shawn Harris. “For far too long, the people of northwest Georgia haven’t had a congressperson working for them and putting their needs first. As a fellow veteran, Secretary Buttigieg recognizes that leadership matters not only in our nation’s highest offices, but in northwest Georgia as well.”

Pete Buttigieg is a leading voice in the national democratic party as former Secretary of Transportation from 2021 to 2025, former presidential candidate, and a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran.

Shawn Harris is a cattle farmer and retired Brigadier General with the U.S. Army. Harris is running to fill the empty seat in GA-14 to give the people of northwest Georgia their voice back.
