SHAWN HARRIS TO PARTICIPATE IN VETERANS TO VETERANS EVENT TAKING PLACE IN ROCKMART, GA JUNE 16

 

Rockmart, GA – An all veteran panel will be taking place in Rockmart, Georgia on June 16 to discuss the challenges facing veterans and military families through the eyes of those who have served. This conversation about our country’s future comes just weeks before the celebration of America’s past 250 years.

 

The panel will consist of the following figures: 

1. 1. Brigadier General Shawn Harris, U.S. Army – Capable of bridging political divides, Harris is the unopposed Democratic candidate for the former Congressional seat of Marjorie Taylor Greene. He served for 40 years in the military before moving back to his home farm to raise his family, and is determined to continue his service for our country in new ways.
   2. Major General William Rajczak, U.S. Air Force – Rajczak is a strategic leader whose work allowed for cross-department communication to strengthen our military. He has also commanded the largest regional support group in the Air Force Reserve.
   3. Lieutenant Colonel  Maura Keller, U.S. Army – Keller, a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and advocate at Atlanta’s VA hospital, is the Democratic nominee for Georgia’s 3rd district. 

• Major General Tammy Smith, U.S. Army – Keller was the U.S. Army’s first openly gay general officer and became the highest ranking openly gay officer after “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was repealed in 2011. She was also an avid participant in Future Farmers of America, going so far as to take a gap year before college to serve as the Oregon state reporter for their FFA chapter. 

 

The panel will be moderated by Master Chief Petty Officer Mark Peterson of the U.S. Navy.
